Ok, i just realized this is the only time i can ever type anything, and yet, people still IM me. I'll try to type as much as possible as quickly as possible.

Yesterday i ended up not playin tag, cuz i was talking online to like 4 people, and then liza called me, which was greatly unexpected, but incredibly welcome. we talked probably for a good 30 minutes, with calls from other friends, including tina, josh, and casey, woven somewhere in there. Last nite we were gonna go to the planetarium, since mars is the closest to earth it's ever been. That fell thru, and it did again tonite. But i'll get to today later. Right now, i'll talk about yesterday.

Classes were ok, there's this really cute girl in my atl class. What's really cool about her is that she's not like any other girls i've seen on campus; she could dress preppy and do just fine, probably even better, but she wears like these punky/free spirit kind of clothes, which are really cool. And she's got a great smile. That gets me every time. Everything else was normal, nothing really too special to talk about.

On to today. I had math and then chem in the afternoon, so it was a decent day. I still can't understand what my math teacher is saying, but it's ok cuz we're just doin review from last year. Chemistry was a lecture day, but once again, it was all review - sig figs. ugh. Boring! I actually got a seat this time, as opposed to Monday, when I got there late cuz of the stupid bus and had to stand in the doorway like an idiot. I felt incredibly tired the whole day though, but here I am typing away at 11:45 at night. Great.

I had dinner over at Wilson with dave, andrea, casey, josh, and terrence, who went to canton last year. Everyone says the food there is great, but it was crappy. Nothing special. After dinner, i went over to josh's room to figure out what was going with his printer. it didn't take too long; it was an empty ink cartridge. Then josh came over here to work on his essay, which seemed somewhat productive. Tina called me and asked me if i wanted to go to the planetarium tonite, and i asked her to get some more people, especially hillary, because Josh really likes her. After like an hour, i called tina back and she said the sky was cloudy, meaning not a good nite for stargazing. Instead, we're gonna have breakfast tomorrow and see what happens from there. Ok, now my eyes are getting a little tired, but i still have more to type.

Before Josh left, we talked about girls we liked in the past, and how it's so hard to let go. He talked about Kelli and Megan, and i could only talk about Ashley. I realized how much i missed Ashley, and quite possibly in a fit of stupidity, i guessed her email address and emailed her a letter telling her everything i ever wanted to but never did or could. It was a bit of a relief, but i'll feel a lot better once i get a reply from her. i hope i got the right address. I was close to crying for some odd reason, and probably could have if i didn't hold anything back.

Well, i've either been too busy or too tired or too lazy to put anything up here, so lemme update you on everything that's happened since sunday. Ok, i just got invited to play some tag, so i'll put this off until later. peace.

8.24.2003

ok, well, back to my story. I sat down by myself at breakfast, near the tv, so i could watch a little sportscenter or somethin. I noticed two girls at the table next to me just kind of eyeing me, but i didn't really do anything. I didn't think they were staring at me, more likely something behind me. Then one of the girls came up to me:

"Hey, I noticed your shirt, are you from Dexter?" I was wearing the Dexter Community Soccer Shirt that I bought from Value World.
"Uh, no, I bought this shirt at a thrift store in Canton."
"Oh ok, cuz i was gonna say, 'I've never seen you around before."
"By the way, my name is Justin."
"I'm Tina."

And that's how it started. Tina and I, and her other friend Megan got to know each other while we were the only ones who sat in the cafeteria. Josh and Andy drove over, and they met the girls, and we just kept talking. Then we headed outside, and looked around. There was some kind of Brody party outside, so we got a few free things. After standing around for alittle while, I told Tina we were gonna split and asked for her number, which she gave. Then me, josh and andy decided to go to the downtown area and check out steve & barry's. Thank God andy had a truck, cuz that would've taken a little while. We went and checked out Steve & Barry's which really had nothing special, just all MSU stuff. Don't know why i was surprised, we are in East Lansing after all. After that, we went to this record store and just checked out what they had; nothing special, but a lot of stuff. We went and dropped our stuff off at Andy's truck, then went back and hit up GAP and Taco Bell. I needed a few pairs of boxers, so i bought those. Then we headed over to Landon Hall so i could pick up my iss books from the girl i bought them from. From there we went back to Brody and chilled out there for awhile, then headed over to Dave's. He needed help setting up his computer, so I told him we'd be over there. After close to an hour, I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so i called the consulting services and they said they would activate it by monday or tuesday. good enough for me. Then casey came over and me and josh went along with him and looked for our classes. We stopped about halfway and ended up at the Aud, where there was a fair with a lot of free stuff. We grabbed our share and headed back to Casey and Josh's room.

I called Tina up and asked her if she wanted to hang out, and she said to meet her at the Aud later that night. She would be with some of her friends, megan included. So i went back to my room and hopped in the shower, dressed, and headed over to the Breslin Center to meet josh. We walked toward the Aud, and nearly passed Tina and her group. Megan realized it was me, so she flagged everyone down. I would have noticed, except i was on the phone with Dad. We hung out pretty much the rest of the night, up until 2:30. We hung out at Tina's room and just watched the Wedding Singer for a little while, then everyone started leaving. I was a happy guy, so I said good nite and headed back to my room. Today we're hanging out again, so I'll update you when something happens. Peace.
i was way too tired to type anything last nite, plus the internet didn't work at my place. Last nite was definitely the most fun i've had since we got here, so I'll try to tell as much of it as I remember. No, i did not drink. No, i did not smoke.

Breakfast:
I woke up around 9, took a shower and headed down to breakfast, once again by mself. ok i'm sorry i can't type on casey's keyboard. the buttons stick too much. i'll writemore when i get back. laer.see what i mean?

8.23.2003

Wow, it's still kinda early (12:19 am). Today was decently to somewhat fun. Here's the breakdown:

I woke up around 7:45 for God knows what reason, and couldn't get back to sleep. I went to brush my teeth, and then came back and changed. I went to eat breakfast around 9 after just sitting around for a little while on the comp. For some reason, I like eating by myself- it gives me nice time to reflect on everything that has and will go on. Actually, dave, my roommate from aop came and grabbed a seat and we talked for awhile, mostly about meaningless crap. After i finished my apple, i decided to walk around outside, before heading over to Bessey and Erikson for those stupid class engagement sessions. waste of time in my opinion.

I ended up hanging out at casey's for a while, and we went and ate lunch (josh had breakfast, oddly enough). after that, the three of us walked toward these "colloquiom with your major" sessions. The communication arts building and the engineering building were right across from each other, so we just went our own ways. My session was so incredibly boring. it probably didn't add to the fact that i was really tired and could have fallen asleep at any time. i know i nodded off a few times, but so did a lot of people. after that session was over, i went back over to casey's and we hung out there for a little while longer, watched "there's something about mary," and then just lazed around for awhile. Then we found out that andy, drew, and jay were coming up, so we went and met andy, who came after having a little trouble finding the campus. I was surprised beyond everything that he was able to get here. i respect that, so mad props to andy.

Before andy came over tho, we had dinner with a few girls casey met at a party the nite before. they were pretty nice, but they were all partiers, so I didn't really connect with them too much. There was one girl who was from Dearborn, Emily was her name. She was pretty nice, and she was the one i talked to the most. We split up after dinner, and after changing, headed over to andrea's place just to visit. we ended up hanging out there for a little while. Andrea came and checked out my room, which wasn't in the best of shape. whatever, she's seen worse, i'm sure. Andy ended up going with the other guys to a few parties, and me and josh went to the union to see what was going on there. There were a lot of people, so we first sat down and ate some wendy's, courtesy of our sparty cash card. very nice. Then we went downstairs and bowled, which was somewhat cool. After we finished, we just walked back to brody, and i gave josh my pass so he could hop a ride back on the bus. I'm done, i'm gonna go brush my teeth now. Peace.

8.22.2003

Today was pretty much more of the same, but just kick the temperature up a few 5 degrees. I woke up around 8 this morning, took a shower, went and ate breakfast, and then walked with will down to the bus stop to go to wharton for the welcome presentation. When we got there, however, we found out that there was a gas leak and that our presentation would be postponed until 11. I saw hannon there, which was cool. He really seems like he's enjoying himself, good for him. So we continued on with the group, and decided to take another walking tour, similar to the one we took at AOP. Boring!!! When i saw everyone going into the international center, i took the opportunity to skip out on that and headed over to josh and casey's room. we hung out there for awhile, then went over to bessey hall, where they were having those in class engagement sesssions; we were supposed to go to four, but only hit one up. just that one was an incredible waste of time, so i'm glad we didn't do four. after that, we went back to holden and ate lunch, and i helped casey set his computer up for the internet. After that, we just sorta sat around for a while and then left for the im building to work out and swim. The weight room was incredibly crappy, even worse than salem's. it was incredibly hot, so working up a sweat was not hard at all. After working out and playing basketball, we went back to holden, and casey and josh took a shower. we rushed to get to dinner, around 7:50, since they close at 8. there was some decent food, like sweet potatoes, green beans, spare ribs, bbq chicken. that was nice indeed.

after dinner, we went back upstairs, hung out for a little while, and then me and josh went back to my room so i could take a shower. casey decided to go to a party, which was fine by us. i really hate partying, but it seems hard to find people who feel the same way. We hung out in my room for awhile, then we caught a bus to meijer for the midnight madness thing, which was decent. I didn't buy anything, just because i didn't feel like spending money so soon on stuff i most likely didn't need. I got back to my room, and then will came in like three minutes later, and he bought a rug. that was really nice of him, so I'll have to buy something next time. Anyway, i'm gettin real tired now, so i think i'm gonna go to sleep. Later.

8.21.2003

Well, it's one a.m. thursday morning, and I have had my fill of college life for a little while. Today wasn't as hectic as I thought it would be. We got in around 10:30 and had everything in the dorm by 11. I talked with will and his parents, all of whom seem very nice. Will and I have a lot of things in common, so I'm happy that much is going right. Mom, dad, and i went to lunch, and then we bought a bus pass, which i was gonna use to go to josh and casey's, but instead got a ride from mom and dad, who were leaving that way anyway. I hung there for close to two hours, though it didn't seem like it, and Trevor gave me a ride back to Bailey. I sure am gonna miss him- he's a good guy. Hopefully we'll hang out during Labor Day weekend.

I left my key in my room, so I was locked out. So with it being 4 pm and me having nothing better to do, i went to eat dinner, by myself. At first it was kind of depressing, but then i told myself, tough it out- there are a lot of people who are worse off than you. Then this one guy came over (i'm horrible with names- he said it twice and i couldn't remember it, chances are we won't hang out, so no biggie), and we just talked for a little while. I left to go back to my room, to find will and a couple of his friends watching the family guy dvd. Instantly i felt comforted, at home, so that was nice. Then he left, so i had the room to myself for a couple hours- that was incredibly boring. All i did was go online for 15 minutes at a time and watch whatever was on tv. I called josh and casey up again to see what they were up to, and they were gonna head up to a party after i was done with my floor meeting. i really didn't wanna go, but as long as josh was there, i wouldn't mind. At the floor meeting which was at 9:30, i found out that we would have another mandatory meeting over in brody at 10:30, which i was pissed about. So i called case and josh to let them know. After that was over with, me and josh met at the breslin center, and then walked over to the party they were hangin out at.

that party was horrible, and that's where i got my first real taste of college life. Alcohol was flowing, people were havin fun, but i wasn't. We got tired of that, so we walked to the corner shop and got somethin to eat and some pop to drink. We sat on the curb, talking about how we were tired of this place. josh feels really homesick, and so do i, but him moreso. He really wants to be at home; he talks about how he shouldn't be here, how he doesn't fit here. i tried to console him by telling him that after the first week it gets a lot better and more fun for the non-drinkers (hopefully).

Now i'm getting tired, so i'm gonna sleep and hopefully i'll update you on what happens tomorrow. Peace.
